Unprecedented rainfall totals in the Twin Lakes Area of North Central Arkansas this spring did NOT submerge the area under water and the FISHING IS GREAT!
The Striper fishing has been great, crappie fishing slow, but bass fishing is good and promises to be great with high water spawns. Being in the hills of the Ozarks provides for high ground for most accommodations on the lake. Call your favorite resorts on the lakes or on the river to check on the conditions.
And there are plenty of fish in the White and North Fork Rivers. Anglers are catching their limits. The opening of the floodgates laid over big trees along both sides of the river bank, exposing giant root systems rich in worms, grubs and bugs...needless to say, the fish are fat and healthy.
March 2008 was the wettest March on record in Baxter County, drowning the old record of 11.46 inches, set back in 2002. The Spring foliage will be BEAUTIFUL!
