04/28/14 - Business Boom in Mountain Home!!

From KY3 News in Springfield, MO

All signs point to a business boom for Mountain Home, Arkansas.  Nearly a dozen companies are either moving to the area, or expanding.

Mountain Home is preparing to add between 300 and 350 jobs, places to shop, eat and craft.
A new Buffalo Wild Wings is on its way, along with a new Harps grocery store, Jimmy Johns and Hobby Lobby.  Arvest Bank is also building a new location and GMC motors is expanding.  Eaton, who produces high pressure hoses is adding 25 employees, and Epoxyn just added 61 employees.  Epoxyn produces lab table tops.

The boom has also meant more work for local contractors.

"Everything this winter has been tough, but as soon as everything broke, we're just going," said Kurt Kiljander with Guy King and Sons.

"We've got people from all over the U.S. that come here.  We've got beautiful waterways.  We've got a low crime rate, low taxes and low housing costs," said Chamber of Commerce CEO/President Eddie Majeste.

The population of Mountain Home is only 13-thousand people, but the Chamber of Commerce says that within a 50 mile radius, there are a quarter million people who go there to shop, eat and work.
