There is plenty happening in the community as well - from the Arkansas Symphony's String Quartet performing live for audiences at the Vada Sheid Community Development Center on the campus of Arkansas State University Mountain Home to the Bassmaster Elite Fishing Tournamenton Bull Shoals and Norfork Lake in late April. Bassmaster events, April 21-24, are free to community and will include the "Local Flavor" of the Twin Lakes with food vendors, art and craft vendors, family friendly activities and a barbecue cooking contest. Entertainment during the Bassmaster Expo includes recording artists Backroad Anthem, Liz Moriondo and more!
Hobbyists can be entertained as well. Spring festivals, expos and conventions are plentiful. Check out the Sow Bug Roundup, a fly tying expo that draws fly fishing enthusiasts from across the nation and the Cotter Trout Festival, a weekend event on the banks of the White River in Cotter. The Chamber's Event Calendar is updated daily with community events, activities and meetings that visitors can attend.
The redbuds, wildpears, daffodils and forsythia are in full bloom around every bend. Spring rains have filled the creeks and greened the grasses. Spring in Mountain Home is absolutely beautiful and we hope you'll drive in, fly in, or boat in to see us soon!
