One of our visitors last week shared a story with us about how The Community Cupboard had exactly what she needed. She stops by on a regular basis to stock the cupboard to help others, but this day, the cupboard helped her. The Community Cupboard was the project of the 2016-2017 Leadership Mountain Home class through the Chamber. The class, comprised of area professionals, completed the ten-month program that ran from August to May. The program is designed to give participants an in-depth education on the community where they live and work, as well as training in team work, communication and leadership skills. Each year the Leadership Mountain Home class is required to complete a project that will benefit our community. The Community Cupboard’s motto is “Take What You Need, Give What You Can.” Community members are encouraged to take advantage of this box as well as stock it with any non-perishable items including books, water, band-aids,and various other supplies that anyone might need while visiting Hickory Park.
The Chamber is excited to announce our new Visitor and Relocation Guides have arrived! The VR Guide has a brand-new look and will bedistributed at Visitor Centers across Arkansas, handed out at trade shows andsent out to those inquiring about visiting or relocating to the Mountain Homearea.
