Leadership Mountain Home is a program put on by the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce. This unique program engages participants with community leaders, businesses and organizations. Leadership Mountain Home is cultivating effective leaders in our area by developing an awareness of business issues and challenges facing our community, discovering personal leadership strengths and establishing valuable community relationships and resources.
The Leadership program begins in August with an overnight team building experience. Sessions include; Education, History/Tourism, Local Government, Community Involvement, Communications, Industry, Healthcare and Law Enforcement. The class also has an overnight trip to Little Rock to tour the State Capitol, meet the governor and our local representatives. The program ends in June with a graduation.
Each year the class must choose a project that will better our community. Past projects include: remodeling of Gamma House, Movies in the Park, Brick Mountain Home Signs located on the East and West end of town,Dollar Energy Fund and the Community Cupboard at Hickory Park.
