REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Join Dr. Michelle Rathgaber, an archeologist with the Arkansas Archeological Survey, for a pottery workshop. We will talk about Native American pottery that is found archeologically and look at examples of how it was made and decorated. Then participants will try their hand at making a small vessel. Each participant will get some air-dry clay to work with and tools will be provided to try some of the techniques used in hand coiled pottery making. Ready to step back in time for a prehistoric good time? The Dinosaur Crew sets up and shows off baby dinosaurs; one lucky kid will be able to help feed a baby dinosaur. At the end of the program, the kids will even get to learn about, help train, and meet our 5-year-old, 12-foot long, 1000 pound T-Rex "Brutus"!

6/06/26 - Summer Concert Series: David Norris

Our first concert of the Summer Concert Series will feature David Norris sharing a selection of songs from musical theatre, jazz standards, and Americana folk music that together tell a story. David Norris is a director, educator, writer, and performer. He recently co-founded the Mountain Home Theatre Artists' Collective where he serves as business director and producer of several upcoming projects. David's background spans acting (Harold Hill in The Music Man, various roles in A-State's As You Like It, and Felix Ungar in The Odd Couple), directing (Newsies, Mamma Mia, and A Christmas Carol) and arts education with the Newport School District and The Studio Arts Center in Bald Knob. In 2019 David's original play, Open 24/7, premiered at the Echo Theater Company in Los Angeles, where he served as a playwright in residence. His biggest influences are his parents, Jon and Terry, his high school choir director Angela Weaver, his best friend and Arkansas cellist Shelby Steward, and his fiancè Heaven Horn.

Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) Lunch & LearnThe Schliemann Center for Women’s Health will host a Lunch & Learn on Blood Flow Restriction Therapy on Thursday, July 16th at 12:15 pm. (BFR) therapy is a rehabilitation technique that uses a specialized cuff placed around the upper arm or leg to partially restrict blood flow during low-intensity exercise. By limiting blood return while maintaining blood flow, BFR can stimulate muscle growth, strength gains, and functional improvement similar to those achieved with heavier resistance training, but with much lighter loads. Dry Needling Therapy Lunch & LearnThe Schliemann Center for Women’s Health will host a Lunch & Learn on Dry Needling Therapy on Tuesday, August 18th at 12:15 pm. Dry Needling is a therapeutic technique used by physical therapists to treat muscle pain and movement dysfunction. It involves inserting very thin, solid needles directly into tight, knotted areas of muscle, known as trigger points, to release tension, reduce pain, and improve range of motion. Unlike acupuncture, which is based on traditional Chinese medicine, dry needling is grounded in Western anatomy and physiology, targeting specific muscles and neuromuscular points. 15th Annual self-guided driving tour of artists’ studios in North Central Arkansas. Thurs. Sept 24, Fri. Sept 25, and Sat. Sept 26, from 10am to 5pm. A juried selection of artists and artisans invite everyone to see how they create their art and offer it for sale. Tour is free. Brochure with maps will be available at the Donald W. Reynolds Baxter County Library, Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce, area businesses, and online at TheArtOdyssey.com. A sneak preview of some of the juried artwork will be on display at the Library during September.

10/10/26 - 1st Norfork Lake Witch Paddle


Dust off your hats and grab your gear! We’re taking over the lake for a festive group paddle.  Whether you’re a pro on a paddleboard or a pro at splashing in a kayak, everyone is welcome.  

Dress to Impress: Put on your best witchy wardrobe! We want to see a sea of pointed hats and capes. Life jackets are required. Bring Your "Familiar": Got a water-loving pup? Bring your furry friend along for the ride!


Location: Pigeon Creek, Norfork Lake. just off Highway 201 North and about 3-miles North Of Mountain Home. Turn right after the bridge.  

Admission: No Entry Fee, but please bring a bag of dog food, cat food, or cat litter to benefit the  MH Humane Society and the Marion County Have a Heart shelter. Cash donations will be accepted for both organizations in lieu of animal food.
