The Libertarian Party is the only political party that respects your rights as a unique and competent individual. We want a system that allows all people to choose what they want from life — that lets us live, work, play, and dream our own way.
Preamble
Libertarians believe that all people have the inalienable right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Governments should only exist, through the consent of the governed, to protect those individual rights. So long as they are not infringing on the rights of others, people should retain the rights and responsibilities of self-rule free from government interference and initiation of force. Regnat Populus.
