With so many happenings scheduled, there are plenty of events and activities for residents and visitors to enjoy. Here are the top annual events in the area. 

SPRING EVENTS

January - David's Trail Endurance Run offers a challenging course through the Ozarks along beautiful Norfork Lake. A great mix of single and double track takes you through 5,000+ ft. in elevation change for the 25K and even more for the 50K. davidstrailendurancerun.com



March - Speakers share their expertise and experience to help attendees learn more about their gardens. The seminar will be held at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Center in Mountain Home.

March - Baxter County Fairgrounds

Fly-tying and fly-casting demonstrations, seminars, and vendors are featured at the Baxter County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $10 for all three days. For more information, contact North Arkansas Fly Fishers at sowbugroundup@sowbugroundup.org.

Farmers and Merchants Bank and Jack's Package Store are proud to present this year's Farmers Market, hosted by the Food Bank of North Central Arkansas. Join the market each Wednesday and Saturday between April 2nd and November 26th at the corner of 5th and Shiras Streets in downtown Mtn. Home. You'll find over fifty vendors, including food trucks each week with live music performances on the first Saturday of each month.


Enjoy your mornings as you visit our vendors and take home everything from produce and flowers to honey, soaps, crafts, baked goods, metal works, artwork, spices, signature BBQ rubs, furniture, and so much more. Be sure to get in on our 50/50 drawings and amazing door prizes!

May - The Cotter Trout Fest is a wonderful time to come out to Cotter’s Big Spring Park, and enjoy the day with food, music, and fun for all ages!


May-August - Hickory Park, Mountain Home

Enjoy live music on various Saturday evenings, May through August. Contact the City of Mountain Home for exact dates and times.


May - Jacob Wolf House, Norfork

Join us for a small-town springtime celebration on the third Saturday in May. Art, food, music, and fun await at this heritage festival. Living history tours, reenactors, and ironworks will be at the Jacob Wolf House. https://www.facebook.com/NorforkPioneerDays/

May - Baxter County Fairgrounds

June - ASUMH Campus

The festival offers a parade, rodeo, car shows, a pageant, concerts, kids activities, food, fireworks, and more. September - Baxter County Fairgrounds

The annual Baxter County Fair runs five days starting Tuesday and continuing through Saturday. The carnival is open from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Events include a pageant, talent show, truck pull, parade, commercial exhibits, livestock judging, and baby contest. baxtercountyfair.org


Second Weekend In October - Downtown Yellville

Each year, since 1946, Marion County residents have celebrated what is known as Turkey Trot in downtown Yellville. Held on the second weekend in October, the event was conceived as a way to call attention to the region’s abundant wild turkeys. https://www.facebook.com/turkeytrotyellville/



October - Baxter County Fairgrounds

The Twin Lakes Thunder Rally and Car Show will be held at the Baxter County Fairgrounds. Admission is free to the public. There will be vendors, games, live bands, beer garden, raffles, Bike, Car & Truck Show, camping and guided rides through the beautiful Twin Lakes area. twinlakesthunder.com


September - Vada Sheid Convention Center

The Fly Fishing Fair is the premier event of the Southern Council Federation of Fly Fishers, held each year in Mountain Home. Demonstrations of fly tying, fishing techniques, travel, art, gear, and conservation issues are presented.

White River Marathon for Kenya is a marathon, half and 5K that takes place annually in Cotter, Arkansas. WRM is a flat course and Boston qualifier. whiterivermarathon.com

The Chamber Of Commerce Mountain Home-Town Christmas Festival and Parade will be held Friday. The parade marks the citywide holiday kickoff.
