With so many happenings scheduled, there are plenty of events and activities for residents and visitors to enjoy. Here are the top annual events in the area.

January - David's Trail Endurance Run offers a challenging course through the Ozarks along beautiful Norfork Lake. A great mix of single and double track takes you through 5,000+ ft. in elevation change for the 25K and even more for the 50K.

March - Speakers share their expertise and experience to help attendees learn more about their gardens. The seminar will be held at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Center in Mountain Home.

March - Baxter County Fairgrounds

Fly-tying and fly-casting demonstrations, seminars, and vendors are featured at the Baxter County Fairgrounds. Tickets are $10 for all three days. For more information, contact North Arkansas Fly Fishers at

April–November - Courthouse Square, Mountain Home

The Farmers Market is held on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. May through October, and Saturdays only during the months of April and November. The market officially opens on the first Saturday in April and continues to the Saturday following Thanksgiving.

May - The Cotter Trout Fest is a wonderful time to come out to Cotter’s Big Spring Park, and enjoy the day with food, music, and fun for all ages!

May-August - Hickory Park, Mountain Home

Enjoy live music on various Saturday evenings, May through August. Contact the City of Mountain Home for exact dates and times.

May - Jacob Wolf House, Norfork

Join us for a small-town springtime celebration on the third Saturday in May. Art, food, music, and fun await at this heritage festival. Living history tours, reenactors, and ironworks will be at the Jacob Wolf House.

May - Baxter County Fairgrounds

This event features whittlers, woodcarvers, woodturners, vendors, judged competitions, demonstrations, and a carving contest.

June - ASUMH Campus

The festival offers a parade, rodeo, car shows, a pageant, concerts, kids activities, food, fireworks, and more. Held the last full weekend of June, the highlight of the festival is an amazing fireworks display on Saturday night on the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home campus.

September - Baxter County Fairgrounds

The annual Baxter County Fair runs five days starting Tuesday and continuing through Saturday. The carnival is open from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Events include a pageant, talent show, truck pull, parade, commercial exhibits, livestock judging, and baby contest.

Second Weekend In October - Downtown Yellville

Each year, since 1946, Marion County residents have celebrated what is known as Turkey Trot in downtown Yellville. Held on the second weekend in October, the event was conceived as a way to call attention to the region’s abundant wild turkeys.

October - Baxter County Fairgrounds

The Twin Lakes Thunder Rally and Car Show will be held at the Baxter County Fairgrounds. Admission is free to the public. There will be vendors, games, live bands, beer garden, raffles, Bike, Car & Truck Show, camping and guided rides through the beautiful Twin Lakes area.

September - Vada Sheid Convention Center

The Fly Fishing Fair is the premier event of the Southern Council Federation of Fly Fishers, held each year in Mountain Home. Demonstrations of fly tying, fishing techniques, travel, art, gear, and conservation issues are presented.

September - Baxter County

Visit with artists inside their studios as they open their doors and showcase their work. See and feel workspaces where creativity thrives.


Join us on the Downtown Square in Mountain Home as we celebrate everything the Twin Lakes has to offer. From local jams, crafts, music, and food, this is a celebration you won’t want to miss!

Baxter County Fairgrounds

Craft Fest is a juried two-day craft show sponsored by the Arts & Crafts Association of Mountain Home. Beginning in 1963, Craft Fest is the longest-running craft show in
Mountain Home.

White River Marathon for Kenya is a marathon, half and 5K that takes place annually in Cotter, Arkansas. WRM is a flat course and Boston qualifier.

Thanksgiving Eve Thru Christmas

This 2nd annual drive-through light celebration will be available to tour on the ASUMH campus.

December - Downtown Mountain Home

The Chamber Of Commerce Mountain Home-Town Christmas Festival and Parade will be held Friday. The parade marks the citywide holiday kickoff.
