Job Description: Director of Community Engagement & Events

The Director of Community Engagement & Events is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive events and engagement strategy that enhances Chamber visibility, community impact, and investor value. This position oversees all Chamber events, the Leadership Program, the Ambassador Program, and strategic community partnerships.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning & Leadership

• Develop and implement a long-term strategy for events and community engagement in alignment with the Chamber’s mission and goals.
• Evaluate and analyze event ROI, community impact, and participation data to guide planning and innovation.
• Represent the Chamber at local, regional, and state meetings or conferences related to community events and civic engagement.
• Provide leadership and mentorship to event volunteers, Ambassadors, and part-time staff.

Event Management & Production

• Plan, organize, and oversee Chamber events, including the Annual Banquet, golf tournament, Red White & Blue Festival, Christmas events, and networking mixers.
• Manage event logistics, including sponsorships, budgets, venues, vendors, and permits.
• Oversee event registration, guest experience, and marketing.

Community Engagement & Programs

• Direct networking initiatives and coordinate business connection opportunities.
• Manage and oversee the Chamber Ambassador program.
• Oversee and develop the Chamber Leadership Program.
• Engage with local organizations, nonprofits, and stakeholders to strengthen Chamber presence in the community.

Budgeting & Financial Oversight

• Create and manage budgets for events and programs, ensuring cost-effectiveness and financial sustainability.
• Identify and secure funding opportunities through sponsorships, grants, and partnerships.

Desired Qualifications for the Director of Community Engagement and Events:

• Event planning and logistics experience.
• Strategic planning and leadership experience.
• Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines.
• Proficiency in utilizing the internet, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and social media in a professional setting.
• Minimum of three years related experience and/or training.
• A bachelor’s degree in event management, communications, or a related field is preferred. Previous work experience may be considered.

The Director of Investor Relations reports to the Chief Executive Officer/President and is responsible for maintaining strong relationships with existing investors, coordinating timely communication, supporting sponsorship sales, and ensuring accurate invoicing and records in partnership with Chamber staff. This role is key to ensuring investor satisfaction, recognition, and retention, while supporting the mission and strategic goals of the Chamber.

Additional duties may be assigned by the CEO/President.

Responsibilities of the Director of Investor Relations include:

1. Investor Engagement, Strategy & Support

• Develop and implement a strategic plan for investor recruitment, retention, and engagement that aligns with the Chamber’s goals and values.
• Identify opportunities to grow the investor base through outreach, relationship-building, and tailored investment options.
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Chamber investors, providing consistent and professional communication.
• Educate investors on maximizing their membership benefits — including sponsorship opportunities, marketing tools, event participation, and other Chamber resources — through onboarding sessions, one-on-one meetings, and guided support.
• Collaborate with the Director of Community Engagement and Events to coordinate investor attendance and recognition at Chamber events.
• Track engagement and feedback to ensure the Chamber delivers value that is aligned with investor expectations.

2. Invoicing & Record Management

• Partner with the Marketing & Operations Coordinator to generate and track investor invoices and payment status.
• Maintain accurate records in CRM platforms, ensuring investor contact and activity data are current.
• Provide administrative support for renewals and changes to investor levels or benefits.

3. Sponsorship Sales Support

• Work closely with the Director of Community Engagement and Events to sell and track sponsorships for events, initiatives, and programs.
• Assist in packaging, promoting, and customizing sponsorship opportunities for new and returning investors.
• Ensure accurate tracking of sponsorship commitments, invoicing, and deliverables.

4. Investor Communication & Content

• Collaborate with the Marketing & Operations Coordinator to ensure timely and consistent communication with investors, including updates, announcements, and reminders.
• Assist in the development and distribution of investor materials such as welcome packets, investor benefits, and annual overviews.
• Coordinate the preparation and delivery of investor recognition materials for publications, social media, events, and reports.
• Help organize and share simple, data-informed summaries or “impact highlights” that show how investor support contributes to the Chamber’s work.

• Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and proactive in follow-through.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, CRM software (e.g., ChamberHive), and digital communication tools.
• Minimum of 1–2 years of experience in customer service, account management, or business/member relations.
• Associate’s degree in Business, Communications, or a related field preferred (or relevant work experience).
• Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.
