David’s Trail Endurance Run

January - David's Trail Endurance Run offers a challenging course through the Ozarks along beautiful Norfork Lake. A great mix of single and double track takes you through 5,000+ ft. in elevation change for the 25K and even more for the 50K. davidstrailendurancerun.com



Baxter County Master Gardeners Seminar

March - Speakers share their expertise and experience to help attendees learn more about their gardens. The seminar will be held at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Center in Mountain Home.

Baxter County Fair

September - Baxter County Fairgrounds

The annual Baxter County Fair runs five days starting Tuesday and continuing through Saturday. The carnival is open from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Events include a pageant, talent show, truck pull, parade, commercial exhibits, livestock judging, and baby contest. baxtercountyfair.org

Turkey Trot Festival

Second Weekend In October - Downtown Yellville

Craft Fest

Baxter County Fairgrounds- November 22nd-23rd, 2024

Craft Fest is a juried two-day craft show sponsored by the Arts & Crafts Association of Mountain Home. Beginning in 1963, Craft Fest is the longest-running craft show in
Mountain Home. 


Craft Fest is held the third full weekend of June and the weekend before Thanksgiving in November each year. 
​Show hours are Friday 9 am -5 pm, Saturday 9 am - 4 pm. It is a juried show, open to vendors who handcraft their items.  No commercial, retail, manufactured, or re-sell items are eligible.  FREE ADMISSION AND PARKING to the public. Drawings for free gifts are donated every hour by participating vendors. The Arts and Crafts Association sponsors a drawing for vendors at the close of each show.

Sean Dietrich is a columnist, novelist, and stand-up storyteller known for his commentary on life in the American South. His work has appeared in Newsweek, Southern Living, Reader's Digest, Garden and Gun, The Tallahassee Democrat, the Birmingham News, and The Mobile Press-Register, and his column appears in newspapers throughout the U.S. He has authored fifteen books; he is the creator of the Sean of the South Podcast and makes appearances on the Grand Ole Opry.

During the creative explosion that was country music in the 1990s, Grammy winner Suzy Bogguss sold 4 million records with sparkling radio hits like “Outbound Plane,” “Someday Soon,” “Letting Go,” “Drive South,” and “Hey, Cinderella.” In the midst of her country popularity, she made albums with the legendary Chet Atkins and Ray Benson of Asleep at the Wheel. An album of original music in 2007 landed her on the jazz charts, and her folk music roots show through in her frequent appearances on public radio’s A Prairie Home Companion.  Her latest offering, “Prayin’ For Sunshine,” is an Americana tour de force. 


Michael Cavanaugh: The Music of Billy Joel and Elton John

Michael Cavanaugh is the new voice of the American Rock & Roll Songbook, made famous for his piano/lead vocals in the Broadway musical Movin’ Out.  Michael began playing piano at age seven, but an opportunity to play in Las Vegas at the famed New York, New York Hotel and Casino changed his life. It was there that Billy Joel spotted Michael and joined him on stage one fateful night of February 2001.  It only took two songs before Billy was convinced that he had found his new Piano Man: Michael Cavanaugh. Michael moved to New York City to work alongside Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp to shape the Broadway Musical that would be called Movin’ Out.  In the lead role, he received both Tony and Grammy nominations.


Season ticket packages include five shows for $150 plus fees.  That’s a savings of $20 on tickets if purchased separately.

This annual drive-through light celebration will be available to tour on the ASUMH campus. coulterlights.com


The City of Mountain Home and ASUMH will host a drive-through holiday light display and a walking area this year. Lights will be displayed throughout the campus from November 29, 2024, to December 29, 2024.

November 29 - Opening date for the general public.  Donations for student scholarships and Coulter Celebration of Lights operations will be collected again this year at the exit gate.

Candy Cane 5K Holiday Run/Walk Fundraiser

The 2024 Mountain Home-Town Christmas Festival will be held on Friday, December 6th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, on 6th St. on the Square in the Baker District.
