David’s Trail Endurance Run

January - David's Trail Endurance Run offers a challenging course through the Ozarks along beautiful Norfork Lake. A great mix of single and double track takes you through 5,000+ ft. in elevation change for the 25K and even more for the 50K. davidstrailendurancerun.com



Baxter County Master Gardeners Seminar

March - Speakers share their expertise and experience to help attendees learn more about their gardens. The seminar will be held at First United Methodist Church Fellowship Center in Mountain Home. For more information visit the Baxter County Master Gardner's Facebook page.

March - Baxter County Fairgrounds

Held the last weekend of June, the highlight of the festival is an amazing fireworks display on Saturday night on the Arkansas State University-Mountain Home campus.

Baxter County Fair

September - Baxter County Fairgrounds

The annual Baxter County Fair runs five days starting Tuesday and continuing through Saturday. The carnival is open from 5 p.m. until 9:30 p.m. Events include a pageant, talent show, truck pull, parade, commercial exhibits, livestock judging, and baby contest. baxtercountyfair.org


Farmer's Market

Join the market each Wednesday and Saturday between April 2nd and November 26th at the corner of 5th and Shiras Streets in downtown Mountain Home. You'll find lots of vendors, with local, home grown produce, homemade food and hand-crafted items!

Turkey Trot Festival

Second Weekend In October - Downtown Yellville

Each year, since 1946, Marion County residents have celebrated what is known as Turkey Trot in downtown Yellville. Held on the second weekend in October, the event was conceived as a way to call attention to the region’s abundant wild turkeys. https://www.facebook.com/turkeytrotyellville/

Craft Fest

Baxter County Fairgrounds - November 

Craft Fest is a juried two-day craft show sponsored by the Arts & Crafts Association of Mountain Home. Beginning in 1963, Craft Fest is the longest-running craft show in
Mountain Home. Craft Fest is normally held the third full weekend of June and the weekend before Thanksgiving in November each year. 

It is a juried show, open to vendors who handcraft their items.  No commercial, retail, manufactured, or re-sell items are eligible.  FREE ADMISSION AND PARKING to the public. Drawings for free gifts are donated every hour by participating vendors. The Arts and Crafts Association sponsors a drawing for vendors at the close of each show.

White River Marathon For Kenya

November - White River Marathon for Kenya is a marathon, half and 5K that takes place annually in Cotter, Arkansas. WRM is a flat course and Boston qualifier. whiterivermarathon.com


ASUMH Performing Arts Series

ASU-Mountain Home offers a full season of entertainment with the Performing Arts Series at The Sheid on the ASUMH campus each year. To order tickets or become a Patron of the Performing Arts, please contact The Sheid at 870-508-6280, visit thesheid.com, or drop by the Vada Sheid Community Development Center's administrative affairs office just inside the front doors.

Coulter Celebration Of Lights

November-December - This annual drive-through Coulter Celebration of Lights is a free and open-to-the-public event. 

The City of Mountain Home and ASU-Mountain Home will host a drive-through holiday light display and a walking area this year. Lights will be displayed throughout the campus 

To maximize the experience, please dim your headlights and roll down your windows. Cars will enter the display at the ASUMH College Street Thompson/Martin gates and exit off Hwy 62 West through the Hurd gates. We hope you enjoy the display!

Candy Cane 5K Holiday Run/Walk Fundraiser

Immerse yourself in lights as you run or walk through the 5k trail. This holiday fun run/walk will be the only opportunity to experience the entire magical event on foot!  All participants will receive a Candy Cane 5K t-shirt. Virtual runners are welcome (Register for a t-shirt and a high five!)


Registration Fees

Range from $20 - $40


  • All participants must arrive before 5:15 p.m. to park and attend the Coulter Celebration of Lights dedication ceremony.

  • Proceeds from this holiday run will be used to support an ASUMH Alumni Scholarship.


Mountain Home-Town Christmas Festival

December - Downtown Mountain Home

Every first Friday in December, the Mountain Home Area Chamber of Commerce presents the Mountain Home-Town Christmas Festival & Parade! This one-night-only event features an array of vendors (perfect for finding unique Christmas gifts), a themed parade through Main Street, a Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, and other festivities on the Historic Mountain Home Square.
