“Ozarks History” by Vincent Anderson will be the topic at the next Baxter County Historical & Genealogy Society meeting on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in the Knox Room of the Donald W Reynolds Library, 300 Library Hill, Mtn. Home.Vincent Anderson is a native of the Ozarks, and works as a historian and reference librarian at the Baxter County Library. In 2016, Vincent was appointed by Arkansas Governor, Asa Hutchinson, to serve on the Prairie Grove Battlefield State Park Advisory Commission. In 2018, Vincent completed his Graduate Degree in American History from American Military University in Charles Town, West Virginia. Vincent enjoys researching the Ozark region and examining the progress of the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Ozarks. Vincent’s purpose in these studies is to uncover the rich history of the Ozarks’ rivers and discover the influential people who harnessed its resources.The Baxter County Historical Society meets the 4th Tuesday of each month at 6:00. Most meetings are held at the Donald W. Reynolds Library. Meetings are free and open to the public.
